D.A. Stuart, a global manufacturer and supplier of industrial fluids and chemical management services, announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by Houghton International. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval.

D.A. Stuart and Houghton are recognized as two of the leading independent specialty chemical manufacturers in the global metals and metalworking fluids marketplace.

“The combination of our two companies and product portfolios positions us for stronger leadership in the global marketplace. We are cooperating fully with the regulatory clearance process and look forward to closing the deal as soon as possible,” said Charles E. Santangelo, CEO of D.A. Stuart.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
